Cyclists, we have a new link from the Katy Trail to the Monarch Levee (Chesterfield Valley). It allows you to ride from Creve Coeur Park and many other locations on the Katy all the way to Chesterfield Valley. It would be way cool for the Sprit Air Show. By using it you could avoid the traffic hassle of the air show. I watched the air show one year from the levee and saw 90 % of the show. Admittedly you cannot see some of the close to ground passes of the planes but there are not many and not in my opinion worth the traffic hassle.
Below map and photos should give you an idea of where to catch the link. Also, in the post below this one is a link to a list of confirmed mountain lion sightings. Note the one in Chesterfield caught on camera:
See red route below
Heading West on the Katy Trail
Sign on the Katy for the beginning of the link
The hill you climb to access the river crossing is easy to summit because it is a switchback.
This is the bike lane on the bridge you use to cross the river. This shot is looking backward after I crossed the bridge. Could not stop to take a picture on the way across the bridge because a huge MO Dot truck was on my tail.
After crossing the river, you will see this sign
