Calling all poor souls not owning a HOG

July 23, 2011

Let me know if you would like me to enter you in the below Hog sweepstakes. I have a friend who recently won a “Rice Burner” and subsequently sold it for a nice wad of money. If you win the Harley and sell it the Harley Gods will not be amused.

Hog kills grizzly

August 2, 2010

Thanks to Don B for below:

Huge Grizzly killed by motorcycle

This grizzly was hit by a Harley on Lolo Pass. This is the pass between Lolo, MT and Kooskia, ID.

Lolo Pass, elevation 5,233 feet (1,595 m), is a mountain pass in the northern Rocky Mountains on the border between the U.S. states of Montana and Idaho approximately 25 miles (40 km) west-southwest of Missoula, Montana.

It is famous as the location where the Lewis and Clark Expedition crossed the summit of the Bitteroot Range via the Lolo Trail on their outward and return journeys in 1805–06.

Look at the claws on that sucker!

The biker spent three days in the hospital! The hog’s a wreck!

Lesson learned: Don’t go Bear Hunting with a Harley, they don’t last but one hunt!!!!!!!!!!

Harleypotamus

June 6, 2010

My son, Bret, works with a gentleman that is about my age but rides a crotch rocket and gets tickled every time he sees something like the below: A Harley or Honda loaded down with bags. He calls them either a Harleypotamus or Hondapotamus. I am trying to cobble together a package of various luggage pieces for my motorcycle trek down the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway later this summer. I just recently added a rear luggage rack which allowed me to add a bag and I tested the package Saturday afternoon at highway speeds and fortunately the test was uneventful – all stayed aboard the Hog.

Yahoo! Almost as much fun as a Harley!

March 16, 2010

About 18 years ago I saw a real live fighter jet similar to one below just a few feet off the nose of my Cessna in just about the same attitude (position). It was a Missouri National Guard jet and I had shared some time in a Merrill Lynch office with the then General of the Nation Guard, Jim Renchen. I wrote him the letter at the bottom of this post. I never did hear back from him, I think, because he was just a couple of weeks away from retirement as a General (big bucks) and would acknowledge nothing that might jeopardize those nice monthly government checks.
