Room at the Inn

June 19, 2014

Room at the Inn is one of the charities I work for and I am proud of the help we give to some of the less fortunate. I feel that many folks did not have the breaks I had in my life and with a little help they might get traction and make their lives better. Below is a positive story about one family we have helped. The story appeared in the most recent RATI newsletter. If the below print is too small you can double click the article and it will increase in size:

A Beautiful Thing

September 28, 2013

Having been a member of my church’s homeless program for about 5 years has allowed me to know “homelessness” on a more personal level. Living out of a plastic bag and moving to a different shelter each night is not a good way to live. Our program has had some success stories but it is nice to see a different approach succeed:

Fate?

May 2, 2013

I met these homeless folks on my 24 mile trike ride yesterday to St Charles and wondered if it was fate because I volunteer for our church homeless program. They are walking (150 miles) to Jefferson City to try to raise awareness about the homeless. A minimum wage employee must work 89 hours per week to pay for a two bedroom apartment:
