What you won’t do for love

August 29, 2015

Tavis Smiley was interviewing Bobby Caldwell who recorded the hit song What you won’t do for love and asked him what was the genesis of the song. Caldwell said it was the result of being dumped by a young lady. He sold millions of copies of the song and it was played all over the world. A few years later he met the young lady that dumped him. She asked him if she shouldn’t receive some “royalties” for having been the reason for the song. He politely said BLEEP and that was the end of the story.

I posted the below on our Model A club site Saturday, 2/28/15:

“Gang, some of you may get a kick out of this: I took my Lady out for a stroll today. As I was coming up to the intersection of Amiot and Dorsett three teenagers were just finishing up unloading a trailer. In fact, their trailer blocked the street for a couple of minutes (no big deal). After the trailer was moved I continued my “stroll”. As I was passing the young men one of them, biggest of the tree, grabbed his heart and pointed to my “A” and said he was in “Love” meaning he just fell in “Love” with my “A”. I about died laughing because it came out of the blue. I think any of the “A’s” in our club would  have elicited the same response from the kid. It was a nice touch to the day. ”

Below image is the “Lady” posing in front of the frozen “Dripping Springs” in Creve Coeur Park. Below the image is a link to a bit of Yatta Yatta about “Dripping Springs”

Happy Mother’s Day

May 13, 2012

A tribute to my Mom: She married my Dad when she was 16 and stayed married to him until he died at the age of 72. Besides family and friends her love in life was flowers. At various times she was in three different garden clubs and served as president of each. To say she was wonderful is an understatement. On this Mother’s day I am displaying a picture of our yard which she manicured almost everyday. Often she tried to get my help on pulling weeds and trimming and I did some but sure did not like it. I will confess I thought the flowers were beautiful but had little interest in being their caretaker. So Mom here is your garden in all of its glory and know we all still love you and miss you dearly – Ron

True Love

July 14, 2011

A woman was sipping on a glass of wine, while sitting on the patio
with her husband, and she says, “I love you so much, I don’t know how I could ever live without you” … Her husband asks, “Is that you, or the wine  talking?” … She replies, “It’s me…talking to the wine.”
