But this modest and unassuming man was determined to stay out of the spotlight. Now, for the first time, NOVA presents an intimate portrait of Armstrong through interviews with his family and friends, many of whom have never spoken publicly before.

Journaling Before Exam Can Relieve Test Anxiety

Saw this on PBS’ NOVA recently. All it takes is making a few notes on some paper about your personal thoughts before the big test and your test grade will improve. The way they explained it on NOVA is it is similar to your computer running with too many programs open and crashing. The various lobes of your brain are usually communicating with each other and “Journaling” will “pause” that area (lobe) which “worries” thus freeing up “computing power”. I know for a fact that throughout my lifetime during “dark periods” of worry about my family, job, business, etc writing was a wonderful way to lighten the dark clouds.

Chaser, the dog, can reason

I saw Chaser on NOVA recently and was blown away by her intellect. Given: X number of toys she knows and can easily identify. Find: She can find a new toy named “Darwin” that she has never seen or heard of  before by deducing it must be “Darwin” because it is new to the set. She will then fetch the previously unseen and unheard of toy.
