I rode my trike 15 miles on the Katy Trail yesterday and found it was offering some beautiful Spring colors. In addition to what the picture shows along the side of the trail were some blue and yellow wild flowers. A great day to be alive – Thank you Lord.

I visited Meramec Spring Park yesterday outside of St James Missouri and it is beautiful. Below are some pictures I took; they should enlarge if you click on them. the Park has the 5th largest spring in Missouri with an average daily flow of 96,000,000 gallons of water per day. It is one of four trout parks in Missouri and allows fishing. It is not a state park but is privately owned by a foundation and is also the home of the 19th century Meramec Iron Works. The cost to enter the park is $5.00 per car.

Mr. and Mrs. duck are back. Each spring they peruse the Windsor Park grounds for a good nesting place and it appears they are on the hunt today. I wonder if it’s still a buyer’s market?

The recent scattering of 70 degree days may have enticed these sprouts to emerge from their winter sleep a bit early. I feel their pain; that groundhog must have a warped sense of humor. It wouldn’t take too much to get me to load up the Hog in a trailer and head for sunny Florida.
